【摘要】:Apparentporosity,waterabsorption,apparentspecificgravity,andbulkdensityareprimarypropertiesofrefractoryshapes.Thesepropertiesarewidelyusedintheevaluationandcomparisonofproductqualityandaspartofthecriteriaforselectionanduseofrefractoryproductsinavarietyofindustrialapplications.Thesetestmethodsareusedfordetermininganyorallofthesepropertiesandareparticularlyusefulfortestinghydratableproducts.Thesetestmethodsareprimarystandardmethodsthataresuitableforuseinqualitycontrol,researchanddevelopment,establishingcriteriaforandevaluatingcompliancewithspecifications,andprovidingdatafordesignpurposes.Fundamentalassumptionsinherentinthesetestmethodsare:Thetestspecimensconformtotherequirementsforsize,configuration,andoriginalfaces,Theopenporesofthetestspecimensarefullyimpregnatedwithliquidduringthevacuum-pressuretreatment,andTheblottingofthesaturatedtestspecimensisperformedasspecifiedinaconsistentanduniformmannertoavoidwithdrawingliquidfromthepores.Deviationfromanyoftheseassumptionsadverselyaffectsthetestresults.Inlaboratorystudiesinvolvingcastablespecimen,abiaswasnotedbetweenformed2X2X2x2013;in(50X50X50x2013;mm)andspecimensquarteredfromlarger9X4.5X2.5x2013;in(228X114X64x2013;mm)castspecimens.Additionally,anerrorintheapparentporositydeterminationwasfoundoncastableswheneverthespecimenswereheatedto1500x00B0;F(816x00B0;C)andthenexposedtowaterasasaturationmedia.Theerrorwasattributedtoreactivityofcementwithwaterandsubsequentre-hydrationofcementphases.Thehigherthecementlevelofthecastable,thegreatertheerrornoted.Itwasconcludedthatanerrorinporosityvaluescouldoccurforrefractorymaterialshavingapotentialtoformhydratedspecieswithwater.Testingunderthesameconditionsinkeroseneproducedresultsthatwerebelievedtobemoreaccurate,butthedatasuggestedthatthekerosenemightnothavesaturatedtheopenporesofcastspecimenasreadilyaswater.SupportingdatawerefiledatASTMheadquartersandcanbeobtainedbyrequestingresearchreport1014.Certainprecautionsmustbeexercisedininterpretingandusingresultsfromthesetestmethods.Allfourpropertyvaluesareinterrelatedbyatleasttwoofthethreebasedatavaluesgeneratedduringtesting.Thus,anerrorinanybasedatavaluewillcauseanerrorinatleastthreeofthepropertyvaluesforagiventestspecimen.Certainoftheproperties,thatis,apparentspecificgravityandbulkdensity,arefunctionsofotherfactorssuchasproductcomposition,compositionalvariabilitywithinthesameproduct,imperviousporosity,andtotalporosity.Generalizationsonorcomparisonsofpropertyvaluesshouldbejudiciouslymadebetweenlikeproductstestedbythesetestmethodsorwithfullrecognitionofpotentiallyinherentdifferencesbetweentheproductsbeingcomparedorthetestmethodused.Whenaliquidotherthanwaterisused,suchastypesofkeroseneormineralspirits,specificgravitymustbeknownbyeitherdeterminationormonitoringonacontrolledbasis.Specificgravitywillchangeduetodifferentgradesofliquids,evaporation,orcontaminationwithdirtorforeignmaterial.Thetestshouldnotberuniftheliquidbecomesdirty,foamy,orchangescolor,becauseforeignparticlescanblockporesandpreventimpregnationofthesample.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthefollowingpropertiesofrefractoryshapes:1.1.1Apparen......
