【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedtoprovideabasisforestimatingoneaspectofthefireexposurebehaviorofexposedinsulationinstalledonthefloorofanopenattic.Thetestenvironmentisintendedtosimulateatticfloorexposuretoradiantheatconditions.Radiantheathasbeenobservedanddefinedinfull-scaleatticexperiments.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureformeasuringthecriticalradiantfluxofexposedatticfloorinsulationsubjectedtoaflamingignitionsourceinagradedradiantheatenergyenvironmentinsideatestchamber.Thetestspecimencanbeanyatticfloorinsulation.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletothoseinsulationsthatmeltorshrinkawaywhenexposedtotheradiantheatenergyenvironmentortheignitionsource.1.2Thistestmethodmeasuresthecriticalradiantfluxatthefarthestpointtowhichtheflameadvances.Itprovidesameansforrelativeclassificationofafiretestresponsestandardforexposedatticfloorinsulation.Theimposedradiantfluxsimulationlevelsofthermalradiationarelikelytoimpingeonthesurfaceofexposedatticinsulationfromroofassembliesheatedbythesunandbyheatorflamesofanincidentalfirewhichmayinvolveanatticspace.Thistestmethodisintendedtosimulateanimportantelementoffireexposurethatmaydevelopinopenattics,butisnotintendedforuseindescribingflamespreadbehaviorofinsulationinstalledotherthanonanatticfloor.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdosenotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerial,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
